VodafoneZiggo is a leading Dutch telecommunications company formed through the merger of Vodafone Netherlands and Ziggo. The company provides fixed, mobile and integrated communication and entertainment services to millions of consumers and businesses across the Netherlands.
In 2020, VodafoneZiggo, a leading telecommunications company in the Netherlands, started searching for a new whistleblowing system that could address misconduct, gifts and hospitality, as well as conflicts of interest. Their system previously allowed for the reporting of complaints, while conflicts of interest and gifts and hospitality registrations were handled separately. This approach presented amongst others efficiency challenges. VodafoneZiggo therefore sought a comprehensive solution that could alleviate these issues. After careful consideration, they chose Whispli, a powerful platform that could address their pain points and transform their incident management capabilities.
VodafoneZiggo set up their Whispli platform in just one month in early 2021. Since then, they have been able to get more reports than before, and have investigated them efficiently through increased communication with reporters. The Corporate Security and Compliance teams have relied on the case management features, such as the automations, to streamline their processes and get to the case conclusion more quickly.

The reporting tool is easy and accessible for both employees and third parties, allowing them to report incidents via web-based or phone-based platforms. VodafoneZiggo believed the user-friendly tool could encourage more people to use it.
Security and Confidentiality
The tool is designed to be confidential and secure, with a two-factor authentication process for case managers. Informants cannot be traced by their IPs. They can follow up on their reports and communicate, anonymously or not, through a chat feature.
Commmunication
Communication between case managers and informants is crucial to efficiently process cases. One key feature for VodafoneZiggo is the ability for the informant to upload attachments at any time.
This feature is particularly useful for investigators such as Gerwin Bijsterveld, Fraud/Abuse and Investigations Specialist. “The first report might not contain all the necessary information, but the informant can communicate further with the investigation team by using the tool, providing us the necessary information.”
