Doctolib’s transition from a fast growing SaaS company to a fully regulated healthcare organisation required a shift in mindset. The objective was not only to comply with legal obligations, but also to develop a strong ethical culture that could guide decision making in a highly innovative environment.

Implementing a digital speak up platform from scratch

Before Whispli, Doctolib had no dedicated whistleblowing tool in place. As a relatively young company, this absence of legacy systems allowed the team to move directly to a fully digital solution.

The initial driver was legal compliance, but the ambition went further. Doctolib wanted to adopt market best practices and acknowledge its responsibility towards employees, patients and partners.

A simple framework across multiple countries

Doctolib currently operates in France, Germany and Italy. While legal frameworks are similar, some local differences exist. The company chose to align by setting the highest common standard, creating a framework that can easily scale to new countries and languages in the future.

Multilingual support was essential. Adapting the platform to local languages improves adoption and demonstrates respect for local teams, especially in environments where English is not widely used.

Creating a single, trusted entry point

One of the main objectives was to create a clear and obvious entry point for employees, a one stop shop for raising concerns. Whispli provides a dedicated, secure and intuitive platform that supports anonymity, multilingual access and a complete audit trail.

Secure dashboards and reporting were equally important. Beyond collecting reports, Doctolib needed to analyse data, support continuous improvement and drive change management.

Fast deployment and strong adoption

The implementation was deliberately pragmatic. The project was structured around two streams: ethics and compliance on one side, and technical integration on the other. SSO integration required only limited technical effort, and the platform was deployed within days.

What made the difference was the combination of simplicity, speed and user experience. The platform felt familiar to employees and required no heavy training, which accelerated adoption.

Embedding speak up into company culture

The launch of Whispli was closely aligned with the rollout of Doctolib’s Code of Conduct. The CEO personally endorsed the initiative, and the message was relayed by local leadership in each country.

Whispli was positioned as a last resort channel, complementing existing management and HR processes, not replacing them. This clarity helped employees understand when and how to use the platform.

Onboarding sessions, e learning modules, recurring communications and visible leadership support ensure that speak up remains embedded in daily culture.

A platform built for the future

Doctolib selected Whispli for its ability to scale with the organisation. Future priorities include expanding coverage to new functions, supporting new countries and adapting to organisational changes such as acquisitions or restructuring.
